How Self-Talk Has the Power to Affect Your Success Rate

How Self-Talk Has the Power to Affect Your Success Rate

You talk to yourself on a daily basis.
You could say it is second to breathing.
You could no longer stop talking to yourself than you can stop eating and drinking.
What you must be aware of are the questions you ask yourself as you talk to yourself.
Whatever question you pose to your brain, your brain will go through all of the data it has collected in your life and give you the most logical (or the most creative) answer back to you.
Your brain kicks out this answer sometimes within seconds.
Most of the time the answer that comes back makes you feel horrible.
Sometimes the answer that comes out makes you feel great!
That's why I'm suggesting you become aware of the kind of questions you ask yourself.
"What if I don't make it" questions give your brain a chance to impress you with wonderful reasons why you won't be successful.
The interesting part about all this is how you get suckered into believing this limiting belief you have just created for yourself.
You then fasten this cooked up belief more tightly in your mind by hanging out with people who think in this limiting sort of way.
This then becomes your life.
This then becomes your reality.
And anything that opposes your "realistic" way of thinking you will come to term as being unrealistic...
Just imagine for a moment what would happen if you flipped the script and began asking yourself "What if I DO make it" questions?
Give it a shot, as "unrealistic" as it may sound right now, ask yourself...what if I DO make it?
Allow yourself to play with the images that come to mind and create mental videos of how this better life would be for you.
More importantly, focus on how you would feel if things were to come together exactly the way you want them to.
Stop right now and just think about this...
It feels good doesn't it?
Enough to motivate you into taking the necessary actions towards achieving your goals maybe?
Well, that's just one of the powers behind the type of questions you ask yourself.
They have the power to discourage you and leave you failing at your dreams day in and day out.
They also have the power to motivate you and give you the strength and the courage needed to go at it again and again until you do succeed.
Make a mental note to change the type of questions you ask yourself whenever you find yourself feeling down.
Ask empowering questions that motivate and lift your mood enough to take action.
Because talking will not change an emotion but action will.
